The month of June will see intense activity at Manaus Airport due to the Parintins Folklore Festival 2026. Managed by the Concessionária dos Aeroportos da Amazônia, a member of VINCI Airports, the airport is preparing to receive 443 commercial and charter flights directed towards the bovine season, in one of the largest air operations of the year in Amazonas. In addition to operational reinforcements to meet the increased demand, the airport will feature a special program focused on valuing Amazonian culture and welcoming the thousands of tourists expected for the Caprichoso and Garantido oxen festival.
The program prepared by the Concessionaire, in partnership with Azul Linhas Aéreas, the Government of Amazonas, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, Amazonastur, and the Executive Secretariat of Labor and Entrepreneurship, includes thematic decoration inspired by the Caprichoso and Garantido oxen, cultural presentations, an exhibition of costumes and oxen, interactive spaces, and a creative economy fair. The initiative reinforces the company's commitment to further connect people, transform passenger experiences, promote culture, and contribute to the development of local tourism.
The reception will begin on June 18 with the Creative Economy Fair, which, in addition to the sale of handcrafted products, reinforces Amazonian culture and creates income-generating opportunities for local entrepreneurs. In total, the fair will feature 16 exhibitors. From June 22, the program will continue with exhibitions, thematic spaces, and cultural presentations, concluding by June 29. The Parintins Festival will be held on June 26, 27, and 28.
The CEO of Concessionária dos Aeroportos da Amazônia, Kleyton Mendes, highlights: “More than just contributing to thousands of people having access to such an impressive festival as the Parintins oxen, we want to connect cultures, stimulate the creative economy, and celebrate diversity. The airport is not just a point of departure or arrival, but a space of culture, opportunities, and inspiration.”
“Azul maintains a consistent presence in Amazonas, leading air transport in the state and being present in ten cities, which reinforces Manaus's role as the main connection point of our network in the North region. For the Parintins Festival, we structured a special operation with 178 extra flights dedicated to the period, being the only company to offer this expanded connectivity to the destination. With this, we can efficiently meet the high demand, bring Customers closer to the event, and contribute to strengthening tourism and the local economy," highlights Beatriz Barbi, senior manager of Network Planning and Alliances and Distribution.
Enhanced security
To ensure operations occur safely and efficiently, Manaus Airport has expanded its operational teams, with reinforcements in cleaning services, support vehicles, and passenger surveillance and inspection services.
The Federal Police and Military Police will act with the support of the terminal's video monitoring system. Baggage inspection, access control to restricted areas, and patrolling of public areas will also be intensified throughout the operation period.
