Starting this Thursday (06/18), passengers and visitors at Manaus Airport will be able to check out two of the attractions that are part of the special reception prepared for the 2026 Parintins Folklore Festival: the Creative Economy Fair and the "Bois do Brasil" exhibition. The initiatives are promoted by the Concessionária dos Aeroportos da Amazônia, a member of VINCI Airports, in partnership with the Government of Amazonas.
The “Folklore Connects Us” reception is an initiative of the Concessionária, the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, Amazonastur, and the Executive Secretariat of Labor and Entrepreneurship, and includes thematic decoration inspired by the Caprichoso and Garantido oxen, cultural performances, an exhibition of costumes and oxen, interactive spaces, and a creative economy fair. The activities reinforce the company's commitment to connecting even more people, transforming passenger experiences, promoting culture, and contributing to the development of local tourism.
The Creative Economy Fair brings together 16 exhibitors and offers the public handcrafted products made by local entrepreneurs. In addition to valuing Amazonian culture, the initiative seeks to generate income opportunities and increase the visibility of the work developed by artists and artisans in the region.
Meanwhile, the "Bois do Brasil" exhibition invites visitors to discover cultural manifestations from different regions of the country through replicas of folkloric oxen crafted by Parintins artists. In addition to the Garantido and Caprichoso oxen, the exhibition, promoted by the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, features representations inspired by oxen present in various popular Brazilian celebrations, such as Christmas parties, carnivals, June festivals, and Marian processions.
On June 22, the program continues with a themed lounge for those who want to view images of the oxen performances, a costume exhibition, and cultural performances on a stage set up in the airport's departure lounge.
Manaus Airport has scheduled the operation of 443 commercial and charter flights during the 2026 Parintins Festival season. With the reception, the proposal is to transform visitors' passage through the airport into a cultural experience, highlights the CEO of Concessionária dos Aeroportos da Amazônia, Kleyton Mendes. “We want tourists to have contact with the cultural richness of the Amazon from the moment they land in Manaus. The airport is a gateway to the state and a space for connection between people, cultures, and experiences,” he said.
